The Distillery A dream like this doesn't materialize over night. William Grant spent the next sixteen years saving and planning and finally saw his passion put into motion two years before his fiftieth birthday. A long time to wait, you might think, for wish fulfillment. To Grant it meant that he could finally work in harmony with the land and his now grown children in a distillery all his own. Grant could not have realized his dream without the continuous support of his family. His wife and nine children certainly contributed to the cause; but many other relatives, including the Bennett branch of the family tree, were key players in the creation. We chose to use the Bennett name in homage to the spirit of teamwork and passion that helped establish the company and make these great wines. The family's dedication and singular attention to their dream blossomed into one of the best Scotch whiskies sold today - Glenfiddich. With this success, upward and onward. Their work did not stop there. The company expanded to producing other whiskies, other spirits and eventually to wine.
